Share your time, skills, and encouragement

Volunteer

Sometimes one conversation, one lesson, or one encouraging voice can help someone take their next step with greater confidence.

At DOT, volunteers walk alongside women as they build confidence, strengthen skills, and prepare for meaningful employment. Whether you have a few hours to give or are looking for a longer-term commitment, there's a place for you in our community.

Find your role

Every skill can create opportunity. There are many ways to support women on their employment journey:

  • Mentor — Build a trusted relationship with a woman as she works towards her employment goals, encouraging her and celebrating progress along the way

  • Career Mentor — Share your professional experience and practical advice to help women prepare for returning to work

  • Digital Skills Volunteer — Support women as they build confidence using computers, email, and everyday workplace technology. No teaching experience required — we'll provide guidance

  • Workshop Facilitator — Lead practical sessions in finance, customer service, technology, or professional development, wherever your expertise lies

  • Mock Interviewer — Help women prepare for interviews through realistic practice and constructive feedback

  • Event Volunteer — Support programme days, career events, and community outreach throughout the year

How it works

  • Start the conversation — We'll understand your interests, skills, and availability, and find the opportunity that's right for you

  • Prepare together — Before you begin, you'll receive an introduction to DOT, our programmes, and how to create a safe and encouraging environment

  • Walk alongside — Progress happens through many small conversations. Your role isn't to solve every challenge — it's to help create the conditions where women can recognise their own strengths
